The pie-charts for male-female population, child and elderly dependency, and women-child ratios of Bhaktapur Municipality, Bhaktapur District is based on 2011 population census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) Nepal. As of 2011, Bhaktapur Municipality had total population of 81,728 with male 41,081 (50.27%) and female 40,667 (49.76%). Total independent population (male and female between 15 to 65 years of age) were 57,490 (70.34%) while dependent children (below 15 years of age) were 19,332 (23.65%) and elderls (65 years and above) were 4,926 (6.03%). As illustrated in the Chart, total dependent population includes both the children and elderly people who were 24,258 (29.68%). With respect to women and children ratio, total women between age of 15 to 49 years (statistically considered as women of child bearing age) were total 25,109 while children below 5 years of age were 5,053, which is equivalent to 201 children per 1,000 women. This women-child ratio is also considered as fertility ratio when specific fertility related data is not available.
