The Gandaki State government has mobilized its maximum resources and efforts to prevent and control the deadly COVID-19 outbreak.
The state government has established a lab to test the suspected ones in its Sttae hospital. A high-level directive committee formed under the chair of Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung held meeting today and decided to send the safety gowns, medical equipment, gloves, face masks among other stuffs to all districts in the State.
The State government has provided one million rupees to each district hospital of the state. Meanwhile, the State has established an emergency fund of Rs 150 million to fight against coronavirus outbreak. It has further formed different thematic committees to coordinate, manage and response the emergency in view of possible outbreak of pandemic.
The government has decided to provide additional 25 percent allowances to health workers, security personnel and other officials deputed in the emergency services.
Similarly, isolation wards and quarantines have been established in Pokhara Health Science Institute naming it as the dedicated hospital.
The Charak Memorial Hospital and Shishuwa Community Hospital are kept in high alert position to use them as COVID-19 treatment centre in case of deadly outbreak.
A total of 85 local levels have established quarantines owing to the threat of deadly virus transmission.
The State government has also formed a State level, district level and local level coordination committees to manage smooth supplies of emergency medicines, health stuffs and daily consuming goods.
The Gandaki State has also assisted financial support to local levels to manage relief packages to the needy people targeting to ongoing lock down.
It has provided 100 million rupees to Pokhara Metropolitan City, one million rupees to each municipality and 500,000 to each rural municipality in the state.
