Gandaki state’s drugs stock sufficient for three months

The Association of Pharmaceutical Producers of Nepal Kaski chapter has said the Gandaki state has maintained an inventory of essential medicines sufficing for at least three months.

At a discussion jointly organized by the District Administration Office and Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Sunday, pharmaceutical entrepreneurs informed that there was no shortage of essential drugs in market.

Rudra Malla, chair of Nepal Drugs Retailers Committee Gandaki, clarified that there was no shortage of essential medicines in the market as hyped but the price of surgical masks had slightly increased lately.

He also informed that there was no fearful situation in regard to the smooth supply of drugs from border checkpoints.

Arjun Pokharel, general-secretary of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed private sector’s readiness in collaborating in all the campaigns against coronavirus menace.

He also informed that the chamber has collaborated with all the stakeholders to ensure smooth functioning of supply systems in the market.

Gurudutta Baral, assistant Chief District Officer, shared the public awareness campaign against spreading coronavirus has been made effective and necessary preparation has been put in place to check the outbreak of epidemic.

While sharing information about coronavirus on behalf of World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Rajib Lalchan said there was no treatment of the viral through antibiotic so only option was to make the general public aware about the epidemic.
