Spokesperson of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and central secretariat member Narayankaji Shrestha has said that the party should be saved from factionalism so that it fully works for the cause of country and people.
Addressing the Gandaki Province Committee’s second plenary meeting in Pokhara on Tuesday, leader Shrestha added that the purpose of unification between the then UML and Maoist Centre was not just to run a majority government but to deliver best to the nation. "The unification was made possible only from the objective need of country’s prosperity with social justice by making the communist movement more vibrant," he told the party cadres from the Gandaki province committee.
Stating that factionalism should be brought to an end to advance the party ahead, Shrestha warned that it will be regrettable if we see good prospects on the basis of factionalism.
Also speaking at the same programme, chief minister of Gandaki State Prithvi Subba Gurung said that the party cadres should reach the people’s doorsteps to strengthen the party’s relations with the people and publicize the government’s performances.
Party’s Gandaki Province Committee Chairman Hitraj Pandey, on the occasion, tabled the political and organizational report where 12 groups have been formed for discussions.
