Chief Minister of State-5 praises late Baldev Pokharel’s political ethics

Chief Minister of State-5 Shankar Pokhrel has asked the state assembly lawmakers to abide by political ethics and consensual system.

At a condolence meet organized by Parliamentary Party of State No. 5 of Nepali Congress on the demise of opposition leader of state assembly Baldev Sharma Pokharel today, the Chief Minister said that he was saddened over the demise of ‘oppositional friendship’.

He said that the ideal of politics is alive in the political movement due to the true role of people like him and praised the late Pokharel’s role to establish the state assembly.

Portraying Pokharel as a struggling personality, the Chief Minister said that the beginning of consensual system in the state assembly was his exemplary job.

Likewise, Speaker of the province assembly Purna Bahadur Gharti praised the role played by the late opposition leader in the assembly and added that his life was full of simplicity and idealistic lifestyle.

Chief whip of the CPN parliamentary party of the state no. 5 Bhumishwor Dhakal and deputy parliamentary party leader of NC Birendra Kanaudiya and other state assembly members bemoaned the demise of Pokharel saying that he was a true guardian of the state assembly.

Aged 82, Baldev died on January 20.
