High alertness has been maintained at Rasuwagadhi check point to control the risk of corona virus, originated from neighbouring country– China.
A meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee held on Wednesday decided to make ‘help desk’, established in Rasuwagadhi, well-equipped in order to control the risk of corona virus from the people visiting Nepal and China via northern checkpoint, said Assistant Chief District Officer, Sapana Kumari Bhattarai.
The meeting also decided to run awareness programme at checkpoint, set up a separate ICU at District Hospital if anyone develops symptoms of the disease, and ensure arrangement of modern equipment immediately for the test.
A sub-committee has already been formed under coordination of Chief Administrative Officer of Gosainkunda rural municipality, comprising Assistant Chief District Officer, Bhattarai, public health officer Shristi Nepal and medical officer at the District Hospital, Dr Anil Kharel, to forward an action plan to control the disease.
Meanwhile, Chinese side has stopped people’s movement at Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border area for 15 days from Wednesday, citing repair and maintenance of road section, and the Lhosar festival.
