hroat swab samples of 1,483 people quarantined in six districts in the Sudurpashim state have been collected and sent Kathmandu for coronavirus test. The test will be carried out at the Teku-based National Public Health Laboratory.
The swab collections covered Doti, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Baitadi and Achham districts. According to Sudurpaschim regional health service directorate, Dipayal, swab collections in the remaining three districts—Bajhang, Darchula and Bajura will be carried out next.
Similarly, the rapid diagnostic test of 213 people (191 male: 22 female) who were not included in the aforementioned swab collections showed negative. The results of test conducted through blood sample showed ‘non-reactive’. As told by Health Office Doti chief Ramesh Malasi, the RDT was conducted at Adarsha, Badikedar, Sayal and Bogatan rural municipalities.
The district public health office chief Malasi shared that RDT will also begin for those staying in quarantine from today. He added that they were asking details with all local levels for the purpose.
Malasi added that all 238 people who tested through RDT are found negative in Kailali and Kanchanpur. A total of 179 in Kailali and 59 in Kanchanpur were tested by health teams that reached the quarantine centres, said Narendra Singh Karki, Health division chief at the Ministry of Social Development of the State.
He added that all details are yet to receive as test were on in Regional Health Directorate Dipayal, State Laboratory, Seti State Hospital and by Nepal Army team.
