Local levels in State 5 have intensified relief distribution to the poor and daily wagers affected by ongoing lockdown imposed by the government over coronavirus emergency.
Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality in Palpa has distributed rice, pulse, cooking oil and salt to 300 families. Each family got 25 kilograms rice, three kilograms pulse, one kilogram of salt and one litre cooking oil, said Rural Municipality Chair Ram Bahadur Karki. The rural municipality distributed 1,500 facemasks to 500 families as well.
Likewise, Madanchowk Bazaar Management Committee at Kohalpur Municipality-3 in Banke provided relief materials to approximately 100 families at Kohalpur Municipality-3 and 4, said the committee’s chairperson Gopal Prasad Adhikari.
Nepali Congress and its youth wing, Nepal Tarun Dal, West Nawalparasi handed 25 quintals of rice as relief each to seven local levels in West Nawalparasi, said NC district acting president Arjun Pokharel.
Six cooperatives in Shivaraj Municipality in Kapilvastu district also donated Rs 107,000 to the disaster fund set up by the municipality, said the Municipality Mayor Netra Raj Adhikari.
