Chief Minister of Karnali Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has directed the health authorities to make the check against coronavirus (COVID-19) effective. During an inspection of the health desk at Babai in ward no. 7 of Bheriganga municipality on Saturday, he directed the social development ministry and the health division and directorate officials to ensure necessary human resource and health tools at the desk that would screen hundreds of travelers every day.
Since Babai is the main entrance to the State, all travelers should be screened properly before they enter Karnali, he said. He also urged the authorities to set up a waiting room for rest of the travelers during the examination.
On the occasion, Social Development Minister Dal Rawal pledged to provide necessary structure and human resource. An isolation room and quarantine unit has been established in Karnali provincial hospital in Surkhet.
"An isolation room with 25 beds and a quarantine unit with a capacity for 100 people have been put on ready position," said medical superintendent of the hospital Dr Damber Khadka.
Social Development Minister Rawal shared that a budget of five million rupees has been allocated to address the possible risk of coronavirus infection in the State.
