International Youth Conference, 2020 will be organised on July 15-17 in a bid to help with peace building and conflict management through youths.
To be organised by the Peace Campaign Nepal, Nawalparasi, approximately 120 youths from more than 15 South Asia and African countries including Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Somalia, Singapore, Malaysia, Romania, Cyprus, Kenya, Taiwan and Iraqi are expected to participate, said district chairperson of the Campaign, Anup Neupane to Rastriya Samachar Samiti.
"This conference will also help promote Nepal’s tourism. Of around 3,000 applications for participation received so far, 26 have been selected. Participants between 18 to 39 years of age who have contributed to peace building in their respective country will be prioritised," he said.
Training session on global conflict management from experts from various countries will also be organised at the conference, he said.
Similarly, cultural and folk song event will also be organised, while visitors can savour various Nepali typical dishes, said programme manager of the Campaign, Gita Dhungana.
Top ten participants will be presented with international youth peace award and the campaign to collect and submit 10 million signatures to the United Nations in 2024 for global peace will be launched, she added.
