Chairperson of Samajbadi Party Nepal and former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Saturday viewed that those aspiring for country’s progress should join Samajbadi Party.
Both ruling Nepal Communist Party and opposition Nepali Congress party have had some good leaders, and their suppressed good ideology would find its place in the party as main agenda, he said.
Samajbadi party would rise as an alternative party as the NCP possessing two-thirds majority is in a downward spiral, he claimed while addressing a gathering of party cadres under the party organisational expansion and strengthening campaign in the district.
He also accused the incumbent government of being a model of corruption in the history and it was losing people’s trust as a result of bad performance, he claimed.
On a recent corruption scandal involving former Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota, he blamed that Banskota bargained on the security printing press procurement deal under the protection of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
"There has not been any sense of development since the government was formed two years ago. It is implicated in several scams of irregularities like Ncell, wide-body aircraft and the recent printing press purchasing," he said.
On the occasion, he welcomed over a dozen supporters who quit NCP and NC to join Samajbadi Party.
