Chairperson of the ruling Nepal Community Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today said signal of the world trend of communists winning people’s hearts outside power, but deviating from their principle once getting hold of the helm of power has started seen in Nepal too.
"World history has it that communists can make big sacrifices, work hard and live and eat with general people together until getting to power. But they move away from their principle when they get power. Signal of this trend has started exhibiting in Nepal too," he said while laying a foundation stone of a building for the Narayanbilasi Joshi Memorial Academy in the premises of Janadarsha Campus in Madyapurthimi Shankhadhar chowk amid a function organised here in memory of NCP founder Narayanbilas Joshi.
In this context, the former Prime Minister stressed the need for strengthening the party and its relations with the people by correcting its weaknesses, taking action against those leaders who have committed activities defaming party. He also emphasised an end to country’s malpractice and corruption.
Pledging his initiatives to manage budget for the project from the federal government, he said he was assured that the state government would add budget and local government also provide funds for the project. The state government has pledged to provide Rs 5 million for the project.
On the occasion, Bagmati State member and chairperson of the Academy, Dr Rajendra Man Shrestha said the project started in recognition of sacrifice and contribution of Joshi to the NCP.
Mayor of Madyapur Thimi municipality Madan Sundar Shrestha assured that the municipality would provide assistances for the project.
The event was attended also by NCP central member Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Bagmati state, Shalikram Jamarkattel, Social Development Minister Yubaraj Dulal, Bagmati State Assembly member Shashi Jung Thapa among others.
