NSC chief stresses on infrastructure development for national sports

The member-secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) Ramesh Kumar Silwal has said that preparations for the 10th national sports competition have already been started. The tournament is proposed to be held in Karnali state in 2079 BS.

At a news conference in Pokhara today, the chief of the NSC said that focus is centered to develop international-level sports infrastructure targeting the 10th national sports competition while adding that there is no paucity of infrastructure for the 9th national sports competition to be held next year in Pokhara.

He added that tender notices have been announced to construct the sports infrastructures where such facilities are in poor condition.

"We have to be prideful of SAG. But, we merely don’t have to eulogize that. We need to move ahead. We are much worried about the 10th national sports game than that of 9th (national sports game)," Silwal shared.

Organising an international-level in Karnali where the infrastructures are almost zero is very challenging, he said, adding that it’s more an opportunity than the challenge.

On the occasion, he expressed satisfaction to the increased instances of sports tournament across the country adding that such incidents could help creating sports vibes in the country.
