Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Padma Kumari Aryal, has said that the government is working to bring back the encroached public lands from across the country under the government in addition to the land plots of Baluwatar, Kathmandu.
The government has legally brought 264 bighas land in its name, she said at a programme organised by Cooperatives Department in Pokhara today.
Minister Aryal shared that final preparations are ongoing to return 13 bighas land and processes have been initiated for another 467 bighas land plots.
Arguing that the government was committed to good governance, the Land Management Minister shared that no one would be spared (if found guilty) in the campaign to protect the public land.
She also said that the ministry was preparing the land profile of government and public land from across the country and urged the representatives from the local levels in the protection of such land.
