The Chitwan-based Bharatpur Hospital has allocated a separate space for purchasing tickets and health examination for the patients visiting with common cold and fever.
The move was made as a preventive measure against the infection of corona virus, according Chief of Medical Superintendent, Dr Shreeram Tiwari.
The novel coronavirus was originated from Wuhan of Hubei province in China and has posed a global health threat. The symptoms area high ever, shortness of breath and chest pain among others.
The Hospital which receives around 1,200 patients at Out Patients Department (OPD) on daily average has witnessed the cases of fever and common cold around 70, informed Dr Tiwari.
There are currently 5 ticket counters currently at the OPD but from coming Monday, the patients infected with common cold and fever will be asked to purchase ticket in a separate counter and get examined separately.
Information Officer at the Hospital Leeladhar Poudel shared that a high caution were observed in the Hospital to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The Hospital has also set up isolation room with five beds where patient suspected to coronavirus infection will be examined. Two physicists have been entrusted with the operation of this room.
The Hospital also organized a brief awareness programme this morning among its all medical staffers, employees and other patients on how to prevent and cure the infection of coronavirus.
