Time to debunk notion that community school is for poor: State Minister Gurung

Minister for Financial Affairs and Planning at Gandaki State, Kiran Gurung, said time has come to debunk the stereotypical notion that the community schools are for the children coming from the impoverished communities.

Inaugurating the 51st anniversary of Khairani Secondary School at Khairenitar, Shukla Gandaki municipality-6 in Tanahu district today, Minister Gurung said the vocational education were also incorporated in the community school’s syllabus to cater to the need to technical human resources for the country.

Furthermore, Gurung informed that process to set up Gandaki university at Shukla Gandaki had been initiated to produce skilled and technical human resources.

Similarly, Vice-Chancellor of Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences Dr Buddhi Bahadur Thapa argued that the cordial relationship between teachers and students would help enable favorable environment for teaching learning activities.

Stating that there were some issues prevailing in the community schools, Chief of Education Development and Coordination, Tanahu, Ramakanta Sharma underlined the need for reforming quality of education in the community school.

Likewise, Deputy Chief of Shukla Gandaki municipality at Sabita Rasaili pointed out the need for providing education in consistent with the changing times.

On the occasion, a revolving fund was established and personas contributing for the set of the fund such as Buddhi Bahadur Thapa, Kalawati Ghimire, Hariraj Ghimire, Dhan Bahadur BK, Sureshraj, Radha Poudel and Janakraj Timalsina were honoured.
