Visit Nepal Year, 2020 inaugurated in Malta, Northern Ireland

Visit Nepal Year, 2020 has been inaugurated in Malta and Northern Ireland amidst various programmes. At an event organised on the occasion in Malta in coordination with the Nepali Embassy in London and attended by various Nepali organisations there, Nepal’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Dr Durga Bahadur Subedi said that the aim of sending 100,000 tourists from the UK to help realise Nepal’s aim to bring two million tourists by 2020 could be achieved by one non-resident Nepali recommending his or her single fellow at the same organisation to visit Nepal.

Likewise, a rally was taken out in coordination with the transport department of Malta with posters featuring Visit Nepal Year on vehicles. Msida’s Mayor Margaret Baldacchino Cefai was present on the occasion. She urged citizens of Malta to visit Nepal once as the country she said is beautiful and a top tourist destination.

Likewise in Northern Ireland, a special programme was organised on the occasion in coordination with the Nepal Embassy in London and in collaboration with the Non-Resident Nepali Association and the National Coordination Council, Northern Ireland. The event was attended by chairs of various Nepali organisations and Nepali migrants in Northern Ireland and office bearers of the embassy.

Addressing the event, third secretary at the embassy pledged the embassy’s help in making Visit Nepal Year a success. A 21-member main committee has also been formed in this regard, he said.
