Hetauda appropriate to be permanent capital: CM Poudyal

State 3 Chief Minister Dormani Poudyal said it was the need to choose Hetauda as the permanent capital of the state bearing in mind physical infrastructure available here, regional balance and the issue of security sensitiveness.

In his address to queries by State Assembly members during the discussion on the proposal tabled by him seeking Hetauda (the provisional capital before this) to be designated as the permanent capital in the first SA meeting today, the Chief Minister expressed his hope the state government would fulfill its responsibilities, meeting the people’s aspirations for development,

Stating that no attempt was made to hook the independence of Sate Assembly, he pledged to ensure the people’s security here, further strengthen federal republic and implement projects of national pride in coordination with the central government.

The SA had sat for three hours and 18 minutes. The sate 3 SA is the composition of 110 members: 80 from the major ruling party, 22 from the Nepali Congress, three from the Sajha Bibeksheel, two from Nepal Workers and Peasants’ Party, one from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Unified , one from Rastriya Prajatantra Party and one independent.

It may be noted that the meeting had endorsed the Chief Minister’s proposal by over a two-third majority as it was backed by 105 members, out of 108, present in the meeting.
