Vyas is a Municipality, which is located in Tanahun district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Vyas has total 14 wards, which are scattered across 248 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Vyas Municipality had total population of 70,335.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Vyas Municipality had total 70,335 population with 31,260 males and 39,075 females. Out of total wards, ward number 1 had the largest population 8,932, while ward number 8 had least number of population with 8,932.
With respect to number of households, Vyas Municipality had total 18,339 households. The ward number 1 had most households with total 2,460, while ward number 8 had least number of households with total 614 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.80, which indicates that Vyas Municipality had 20 percent lower males as compared to the females. Same as, the population to household ratio was 3.84, which means that in average 3.84 family members lived in each household.

As of 2011, 9,335 population in Vyas Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 13.27 percent of the total population. In terms of age, the largest population in Vyas Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 9,690. Gender wise, there were 4,864 males and 4,826 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 1,193 population, which consistes of 588 males and 605 females. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 51,645 people fully literate in Vyas Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 1,280 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 21,214 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Vyas Municipality, total 10,726 males and 10,488 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 6,231 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 2,081 male and 4,150 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 1.02 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.50.The CBS census also states that 349 males and 451 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.
Grade 1-12 Students & Schools
According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 6,006 in Vyas Municipality with 2,872 (47.82%) of males and 3,134 (52.18%) females. There were total 130 schools. In average, 46 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Vyas is Nepali, which is spoken by 45,489 people. The Vyas has people who speak other languages, such as Magar, Gurung, Newar, Darai, Urdu, Bote, Bhojpuri, Tamang, Dura, Maithili, Hindi, Chepang, Bhujel, Tharu, Rai, Kumal, Bangla, Doteli, Sunuwar, Limbu, etc.

There were as little as Mallaha caste with population of as little as 12 in total. Out of total population of 70,335, there were total 1,150 (1.64%) disabled persons in Vyas Municipality with 615 (53.48%) males and 535 (46.52%) females. The physically disabled persons were 407, while mentally disabled people were 81 and intellectually disabled were 50.
Similarly, there were 191 people who were blind and 187 people were deaf, while 24 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 132 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 78 people had multiple disabilities.

Household Foundation
Out of total 18339 households in Vyas Municipality, there were 9,997 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 3,671 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 3,891 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 604houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 9,078 houses were mud bonded, 8,455 houses were cement bonded, 196 houses were wood planks bonded, 367 houses were bamboo bonded and 31 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 2,283 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 7,796 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 1,594 houses had roof of tile, 6,405 houses had RCC roofs, 46 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. out of 18,339 households in Vyas Municipality, 1,489 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 16,517 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 3,408 establishments in Vyas Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 10,419 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 5,631 and female engagement of 4,788 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.06 people engaged with average males are 1.65 and females are 1.40. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.18, which means as many as 1.18 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 54.05 percent while the females are 45.95 percent.
