In 2017 election of Tinpatan Rural Municipality (Sindhuli district), candidate Karna Bahadur Magar of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,701 (39.55%) votes out of total votes of 14,416 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Chatra Bahadur Dahal of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 5,682 (28.24%) of votes. The rest of 5 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,033 (10.52) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Padam Maya Tamang of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 5,722 (39.94%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Chinta Devi Dahal of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,091 (25.39%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 3,515 (12.27) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 200 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 121 (60.50%) males and 79 (39.50%) females. Moreover, there were total 45 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 11 wards. Same as, total 73 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 35 females and 35 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
