In 2017 election of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality (Saptari district), candidate Satish Kumar Singh of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 2,987 (30.33%) votes out of total votes of 9,848 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Arun Kumar Mandal of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,872 (22.38%) of votes. The rest of 13 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,989 (20.25) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Sachita Kumari Yadav of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 2,996 (33.67%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Aupam Singh of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 1,973 (16.59%) of votes and came in second position. Other 9 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 3,929 (22.08) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 279 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 172 (61.65%) males and 107 (38.35%) females. Moreover, there were total 62 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 8 wards. Same as, total 101 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 51 females and 39 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
