Thakre is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Dhading district, Province No. 3 of Nepal. Thakre has total 11 wards, which are scattered across 96 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Thakre Rural Municipality had total population of 32,914.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Thakre Rural Municipality had total 32,914 population with 16,053 males and 16,861 females. Out of total wards, ward number 2 had the largest population 4,572, while ward number 9 had least number of population with 4,572.
With respect to number of households, Thakre Rural Municipality had total 6,927 households. The ward number 7 had most households with total 905, while ward number 11 had least number of households with total 439 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.95, which indicates that Thakre Rural Municipality had 5 percent lower males as compared to the females. In terms of age, the largest population in Thakre Rural Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 4,526. Gender wise, there were 2,277 males and 2,249 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 558 population, which consistes of 274 males and 284 females. The population with age-group 50 to 54 had male to female ratio of 1.11, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 20 to 24 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.80. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 19,670 people fully literate in Thakre Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 874 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 9,676 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Thakre Rural Municipality, total 4,719 males and 4,957 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 4,306 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 2,006 male and 2,300 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.95 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.87.The CBS census also states that 149 males and 159 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.
Grade 1-12 Students & Schools
According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 3,371 in Thakre Rural Municipality with 1,580 (46.87%) of males and 1,791 (53.13%) females. There were total 49 schools. In average, 69 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Thakre is Nepali, which is spoken by 21,325 people. The Thakre has people who speak other languages, such as Tamang, Newar, Chepang, Maithili, Magar, Urdu, Bhojpuri, Rai, Hindi, Gurung, Limbu, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Thakre Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Tamang caste with total population of 11,809. There were as little as Danuwar caste with population of as little as 13 in total. People of several other castes who live in Thakre are Chhetri, Brahmin - Hill, Kami, Magar, Newar, Rai, Damai/Dholi, Gharti/Bhujel, Chepang/Praja, Sarki, Kamar, Thakuri, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Muslim, Gurung, Badi, Limbu, Ghale, Kalwar, Tharu, Danuwar, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Household Foundation
Out of total 6927 households in Thakre Rural Municipality, there were 6,076 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 327 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 273 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 156houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 5,987 houses were mud bonded, 645 houses were cement bonded, 50 houses were wood planks bonded, 116 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

With reference to source of fuel, 6,126 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 34 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 571 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (2), bio-gas (172), fuel electricity (2), etc.
Same as, total 6,155 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 711, while 20 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.89.

out of 6,927 households in Thakre Rural Municipality, 790 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 5,953 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 1,018 establishments in Thakre Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 5,312 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 2,618 and female engagement of 2,694 persons.In every business, there were an average of 5.22 people engaged with average males are 2.57 and females are 2.65. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 0.97, which means as many as 0.97 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 49.28 percent while the females are 50.72 percent.
