Temal is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Kavrepalanchok district, Province No. 3 of Nepal. Temal has total 9 wards, which are scattered across 89 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Temal Rural Municipality had total population of 22,712.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Temal Rural Municipality had total 22,712 population with 10,583 males and 12,129 females. Out of total wards, ward number 8 had the largest population 3,521, while ward number 3 had least number of population with 3,521.
With respect to number of households, Temal Rural Municipality had total 4,876 households. The ward number 8 had most households with total 717, while ward number 3 had least number of households with total 239 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.87, which indicates that Temal Rural Municipality had 13 percent lower males as compared to the females. Same as, the population to household ratio was 4.66, which means that in average 4.66 family members lived in each household.
Absentee Population
As of 2011, 1,215 population in Temal Rural Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 5.35 percent of the total population. In terms of age, the largest population in Temal Rural Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 3,538. Gender wise, there were 1,709 males and 1,829 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 531 population, which consistes of 254 males and 277 females. Similarly, age-group 35 to 39 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.66. As illustrated in the pie-chart, overall ratio of male to female population in Temal Rural Municipality as per 2011 population census was 0.87 with 46.60% (10,583) of males and 53.40% (12,129) of females.
There were 58.90 % (13,377 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 32.31 % with total number of 7,339. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 8.79 % with total number of 1,996. There were 5,959 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 1,356. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 13,733 people fully literate in Temal Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 581 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 8,008 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Temal Rural Municipality, total 3,718 males and 4,290 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 1,723 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 833 male and 890 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.87 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.94.The CBS census also states that 130 males and 198 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.
Grade 1-12 Students & Schools
According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 5,293 in Temal Rural Municipality with 2,515 (47.52%) of males and 2,778 (52.48%) females. There were total 54 schools. In average, 98 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Temal is Tamang, which is spoken by 16,596 people. The Temal has people who speak other languages, such as Nepali, Newar, Magar, Majhi, Maithili, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Temal Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Tamang caste with total population of 16,612. There were as little as Sanyasi/Dashnami caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Temal are Brahmin - Hill, Magar, Chhetri, Newar, Kami, Damai/Dholi, Majhi, Thakuri, Undefined Others, Sonar, Gharti/Bhujel, Sanyasi/Dashnami, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.
Top five castes of people in Temal Rural Municipality are Tamang (16,612), Brahmin - Hill (1,665), Magar (1,299), Chhetri (954) and Newar (836) with total population of 21,366, which forms 94.07 percent out of total population of 22,712 in Temal Rural Municipality.Population by Disability
Out of total population of 22,712, there were total 624 (2.75%) disabled persons in Temal Rural Municipality with 313 (50.16%) males and 311 (49.84%) females. The physically disabled persons were 192, while mentally disabled people were 30 and intellectually disabled were 15.
Similarly, there were 120 people who were blind and 89 people were deaf, while 36 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 93 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 49 people had multiple disabilities.

Household Foundation
Out of total 4876 households in Temal Rural Municipality, there were 4,833 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 10 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 3 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 7houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 4,814 houses were mud bonded, 28 houses were cement bonded, 1 houses were wood planks bonded, 3 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,069 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 2,173 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 1,586 houses had roof of tile, 15 houses had RCC roofs, 0 houses had roof of woods while 3 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With reference to source of fuel, 4,705 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 15 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 43 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (1), bio-gas (87), fuel electricity (0), etc.
Same as, total 3,551 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 744, while 241 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.73.

Facilities
out of 4,876 households in Temal Rural Municipality, 1,122 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 3,540 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,644, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 2,384.
Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 463 establishments in Temal Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,278 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 713 and female engagement of 565 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.76 people engaged with average males are 1.54 and females are 1.22. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.26, which means as many as 1.26 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 55.79 percent while the females are 44.21 percent.
