Sunarya is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Baitadi district, Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal. Sunarya has total 8 wards, which are scattered across 125 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Sunarya Rural Municipality had total population of 18,549.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Sunarya Rural Municipality had total 18,549 population with 8,471 males and 10,078 females. Out of total wards, ward number 4 had the largest population 3,142, while ward number 1 had least number of population with 3,142.
With respect to number of households, Sunarya Rural Municipality had total 3,321 households. The ward number 4 had most households with total 569, while ward number 1 had least number of households with total 197 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.84, which indicates that Sunarya Rural Municipality had 16 percent lower males as compared to the females. In terms of age, the largest population in Sunarya Rural Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 2,704. However, gender wise largest population age group differs from the total population, such as largest male population falls between 5 and 9 with total 1,374 while female population falls between 10 and 14 with total 1,385 population. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 277 population, which consistes of 133 males and 144 females. There were 52.56 % (9,750 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 41.87 % with total number of 7,767. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 5.56 % with total number of 1,032. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 47.44 with total number of 8,799
There were 4,779 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 2,415. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 10,144 people fully literate in Sunarya Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 460 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 6,078 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Sunarya Rural Municipality, total 3,024 males and 3,054 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 2,042 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 695 male and 1,347 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.99 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.52.The CBS census also states that 46 males and 116 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 6,739 in Sunarya Rural Municipality with 3,285 (48.75%) of males and 3,454 (51.25%) females. There were total 40 schools. In average, 168 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Sunarya is Baitadeli, which is spoken by 18,269 people. The Sunarya has people who speak other languages, such as Nepali, Doteli, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Sunarya Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Chhetri caste with total population of 11,964. There were as little as Others caste with population of as little as 32 in total. People of several other castes who live in Sunarya are Brahmin - Hill, Dalit Others, Thakuri, Lohar, Damai/Dholi, Kami, Yakkha, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Household Foundation
Out of total 3321 households in Sunarya Rural Municipality, there were 3,274 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 12 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 2 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 1houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 3,186 houses were mud bonded, 84 houses were cement bonded, 19 houses were wood planks bonded, 0 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 24 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 35 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,199 houses had roof of tile, 26 houses had RCC roofs, 2 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.32.

out of 3,321 households in Sunarya Rural Municipality, 843 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,298 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 420 establishments in Sunarya Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,103 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 726 and female engagement of 377 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.63 people engaged with average males are 1.73 and females are 0.90. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.93, which means as many as 1.93 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 65.82 percent while the females are 34.18 percent.
