Simkot is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Humla district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Simkot has total 8 wards, which are scattered across 786 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Simkot Rural Municipality had total population of 11,557.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Simkot Rural Municipality had total 11,557 population with 5,968 males and 5,589 females. Out of total wards, ward number 7 had the largest population 2,098, while ward number 4 had least number of population with 2,098.
With respect to number of households, Simkot Rural Municipality had total 2,566 households. The ward number 5 had most households with total 618, while ward number 4 had least number of households with total 134 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 1.07, which indicates that Simkot Rural Municipality had -7 percent lower males as compared to the females. In terms of age, the largest population in Simkot Rural Municipality were between 5 and 9 years of age with total 1,492. Gender wise, there were 740 males and 752 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 124 population, which consistes of 73 males and 51 females. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 5,419 people fully literate in Simkot Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 343 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 3,307 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Simkot Rural Municipality, total 1,744 males and 1,563 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 1,469 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 563 male and 906 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 1.12 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.62.The CBS census also states that 26 males and 34 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 2,458 in Simkot Rural Municipality with 1,187 (48.29%) of males and 1,271 (51.71%) females. There were total 27 schools. In average, 91 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Simkot is Nepali, which is spoken by 9,240 people. The Simkot has people who speak other languages, such as Tamang, Magar, Sign Language, Maithili, Doteli, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Simkot Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Chhetri caste with total population of 4,679. There were as little as Tharu caste with population of as little as 12 in total. People of several other castes who live in Simkot are Thakuri, Tamang, Kami, Damai/Dholi, Brahmin - Hill, Byasi/Sanka, Magar, Sarki, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Newar, Tharu, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Household Foundation
Out of total 2566 households in Simkot Rural Municipality, there were 2,539 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 16 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 1 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 2houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 2,515 houses were mud bonded, 36 houses were cement bonded, 4 houses were wood planks bonded, 0 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 540 establishments in Simkot Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,575 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,016 and female engagement of 559 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.92 people engaged with average males are 1.88 and females are 1.04. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.82, which means as many as 1.82 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 64.51 percent while the females are 35.49 percent.
