Silichong is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Sankhuwasabha district, Province No. 1 of Nepal. Silichong has total 5 wards, which are scattered across 293 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Silichong Rural Municipality had total population of 12,174.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Silichong Rural Municipality had total 11,806 population with 5,746 males and 6,060 females. Out of total wards, ward number 1 had the largest population 2,895, while ward number 5 had least number of population with 2,895.
With respect to number of households, Silichong Rural Municipality had total 2,412 households. The ward number 1 had most households with total 604, while ward number 5 had least number of households with total 260 number of households.

In terms of age, the largest population in Silichong Rural Municipality were between 15 and 19 years of age with total 1,559. However, gender wise largest population age group differs from the total population, such as largest male population falls between 5 and 9 with total 790 while female population falls between 15 and 19 with total 803 population. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 192 population, which consistes of 99 males and 93 females. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 7,462 people fully literate in Silichong Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 297 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 3,908 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Silichong Rural Municipality, total 1,972 males and 1,936 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 1,396 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 626 male and 770 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 1.02 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.81.The CBS census also states that 32 males and 44 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 3,481 in Silichong Rural Municipality with 1,668 (47.92%) of males and 1,813 (52.08%) females. There were total 41 schools. In average, 85 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Silichong is Kulung, which is spoken by 7,702 people. The Silichong has people who speak other languages, such as Mewahang, Nepali, Rai, Tamang, Nachhiring, Sherpa, Sindhi, Maithili, Thulung, Khaling, Sampang, Chamling, Limbu, Dumi, Bantawa, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Silichong Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Kulung caste with total population of 7,831. There were as little as Brahmin - Hill caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Silichong are Mewahang Bala, Rai, Kami, Chhetri, Tamang, Sherpa, Nachhiring, Kayastha, Thulung, Khaling, Damai/Dholi, Samgpang, Chamling, Limbu, Bantaba, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Newar, Brahmin - Hill, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Similarly, there were 55 people who were blind and 57 people were deaf, while 10 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 20 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 28 people had multiple disabilities.

Household Foundation
Out of total 2412 households in Silichong Rural Municipality, there were 1,871 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 5 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 0 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 508houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 1,276 houses were mud bonded, 7 houses were cement bonded, 192 houses were wood planks bonded, 886 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 2,099 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 128 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 7 houses had roof of tile, 2 houses had RCC roofs, 8 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 870, while 985 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.05.

out of 2,412 households in Silichong Rural Municipality, 592 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 1,709 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 402 establishments in Silichong Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 2,104 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 990 and female engagement of 1,114 persons.In every business, there were an average of 5.23 people engaged with average males are 2.46 and females are 2.77. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 0.89, which means as many as 0.89 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 47.05 percent while the females are 52.95 percent.
