Shantinagar is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Dang district, Province No. 5 of Nepal. Shantinagar has total 7 wards, which are scattered across 116 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Shantinagar Rural Municipality had total population of 25,203.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Shantinagar Rural Municipality had total 25,203 population with 11,595 males and 13,608 females. Out of total wards, ward number 2 had the largest population 4,670, while ward number 5 had least number of population with 4,670.
With respect to number of households, Shantinagar Rural Municipality had total 5,328 households. The ward number 3 had most households with total 992, while ward number 5 had least number of households with total 552 number of households.

Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 15,081 people fully literate in Shantinagar Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 419 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 8,056 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Shantinagar Rural Municipality, total 3,863 males and 4,193 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 2,732 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 1,060 male and 1,672 female were not attending teh school. According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 43,831 in Shantinagar Rural Municipality with 21,956 (50.09%) of males and 21,875 (49.91%) females. There were total 35 schools. In average, 1252 students were studying in each school.

There were as little as Tamang caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Shantinagar are Tharu, Magar, Kami, Brahmin - Hill, Damai/Dholi, Thakuri, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Sarki, Muslim, Dalit Others, Newar, Badi, Terai Others, Chhantyal/Chhantel, Gaine, Kumal, Tamang, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Household Foundation
Out of total 5328 households in Shantinagar Rural Municipality, there were 4,612 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 51 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 9 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 23houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 3,008 houses were mud bonded, 76 houses were cement bonded, 21 houses were wood planks bonded, 11 houses were bamboo bonded and 1,952 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,110 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 1,040 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,075 houses had roof of tile, 26 houses had RCC roofs, 11 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. Same as, total 2,722 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 1,994, while 288 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.51.

out of 5,328 households in Shantinagar Rural Municipality, 1,006 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 4,212 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 474 establishments in Shantinagar Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,216 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 704 and female engagement of 512 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.57 people engaged with average males are 1.49 and females are 1.08. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.38, which means as many as 1.38 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 57.89 percent while the females are 42.11 percent.
