Sarumarani is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Pyuthan district, Province No. 5 of Nepal. Sarumarani has total 6 wards, which are scattered across 158 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Sarumarani Rural Municipality had total population of 18,627.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Sarumarani Rural Municipality had total 18,627 population with 8,309 males and 10,318 females. Out of total wards, ward number 3 had the largest population 3,440, while ward number 5 had least number of population with 3,440.
With respect to number of households, Sarumarani Rural Municipality had total 3,484 households. The ward number 2 had most households with total 665, while ward number 5 had least number of households with total 451 number of households.

There were only 11,093 people fully literate in Sarumarani Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 306 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 6,369 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Sarumarani Rural Municipality, total 3,192 males and 3,177 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 2,415 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 749 male and 1,666 female were not attending teh school. There were as little as Gaine caste with population of as little as 14 in total. People of several other castes who live in Sarumarani are Kami, Chhetri, Brahmin - Hill, Kumal, Gurung, Tharu, Damai/Dholi, Muslim, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Sarki, Newar, Badi, Thakuri, Foreigner, Kusunda, Gaine, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Household Foundation
Out of total 3484 households in Sarumarani Rural Municipality, there were 2,740 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 50 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 46 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 628houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 2,694 houses were mud bonded, 250 houses were cement bonded, 479 houses were wood planks bonded, 41 houses were bamboo bonded and 2 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 2,352 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 612 houses had galvanized roofs. Same as, total 1,500 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 388, while 224 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.43.

out of 3,484 households in Sarumarani Rural Municipality, 555 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,820 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 510 establishments in Sarumarani Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,620 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 926 and female engagement of 694 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.18 people engaged with average males are 1.82 and females are 1.36. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.33, which means as many as 1.33 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 57.16 percent while the females are 42.84 percent.
