Rupa is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Kaski district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Rupa has total 7 wards, which are scattered across 95 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Rupa Rural Municipality had total population of 14,519.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Rupa Rural Municipality had total 14,519 population with 6,289 males and 8,230 females. Out of total wards, ward number 6 had the largest population 2,958, while ward number 2 had least number of population with 2,958.
With respect to number of households, Rupa Rural Municipality had total 3,780 households. The ward number 7 had most households with total 762, while ward number 2 had least number of households with total 350 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.76, which indicates that Rupa Rural Municipality had 24 percent lower males as compared to the females. Same as, the population to household ratio was 3.84, which means that in average 3.84 family members lived in each household.

In terms of age, the largest population in Rupa Rural Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 1,896. Gender wise, there were 939 males and 957 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 375 population, which consistes of 199 males and 176 females. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 10,074 people fully literate in Rupa Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 275 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 4,168 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Rupa Rural Municipality, total 2,044 males and 2,124 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 1,170 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 356 male and 814 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.96 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.44.The CBS census also states that 58 males and 90 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.
Grade 1-12 Students & Schools
According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 3,338 in Rupa Rural Municipality with 1,601 (47.96%) of males and 1,737 (52.04%) females. There were total 40 schools. In average, 83 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Rupa is Nepali, which is spoken by 11,134 people. The Rupa has people who speak other languages, such as Gurung, Newar, Urdu, Magar, Bhojpuri, Tamang, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Rupa Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Brahmin - Hill caste with total population of 3,749. There were as little as Badi caste with population of as little as 12 in total. People of several other castes who live in Rupa are Gurung, Chhetri, Kami, Newar, Magar, Damai/Dholi, Thakuri, Kumal, Sarki, Muslim, Gharti/Bhujel, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Khawas, Dalit Others, Tamang, Bote, Rai, Dura, Badi, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Similarly, there were 96 people who were blind and 75 people were deaf, while 5 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 47 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 32 people had multiple disabilities.

Household Foundation
Out of total 3780 households in Rupa Rural Municipality, there were 3,660 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 74 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 14 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 23houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 3,457 houses were mud bonded, 276 houses were cement bonded, 21 houses were wood planks bonded, 18 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 952 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 2,635 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 120 houses had roof of tile, 59 houses had RCC roofs, 1 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.
With respect to the toilets, 40 out of 3,780 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 3,618 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 117 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

With reference to source of fuel, 3,514 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 4 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 113 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (2), bio-gas (140), fuel electricity (1), etc.
Same as, total 2,872 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 475, while 416 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.76.

out of 3,780 households in Rupa Rural Municipality, 380 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 3,364 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 292 establishments in Rupa Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 870 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 503 and female engagement of 367 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.98 people engaged with average males are 1.72 and females are 1.26. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.37, which means as many as 1.37 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 57.82 percent while the females are 42.18 percent.
