Ramechhap is a Municipality, which is located in Ramechhap district, Province No. 3 of Nepal. Ramechhap has total 9 wards, which are scattered across 202 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Ramechhap Municipality had total population of 28,612.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Ramechhap Municipality had total 28,612 population with 12,879 males and 15,733 females. Out of total wards, ward number 4 had the largest population 4,248, while ward number 9 had least number of population with 4,248.
With respect to number of households, Ramechhap Municipality had total 6,126 households. The ward number 5 had most households with total 858, while ward number 9 had least number of households with total 323 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.82, which indicates that Ramechhap Municipality had 18 percent lower males as compared to the females. Same as, the population to household ratio was 4.67, which means that in average 4.67 family members lived in each household.

As of 2011, 1,942 population in Ramechhap Municipality were absent from their households, which equals to 6.79 percent of the total population. In terms of age, the largest population in Ramechhap Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 4,209. Gender wise, there were 2,058 males and 2,151 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 709 population, which consistes of 317 males and 392 females. There were 56.18 % (16,075 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 34.92 % with total number of 9,990. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 8.90 % with total number of 2,547. There were 7,537 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 2,472. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 16,369 people fully literate in Ramechhap Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 825 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 9,306 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Ramechhap Municipality, total 4,432 males and 4,874 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 2,508 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 901 male and 1,607 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.91 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.56.The CBS census also states that 87 males and 151 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.
Grade 1-12 Students & Schools
According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 7,537 in Ramechhap Municipality with 3,599 (47.75%) of males and 3,938 (52.25%) females. There were total 67 schools. In average, 112 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Ramechhap is Nepali, which is spoken by 15,490 people. The Ramechhap has people who speak other languages, such as Magar, Tamang, Newar, Sunuwar, Hayu/Vayu, Maithili, Majhi, Bhojpuri, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Ramechhap Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Newar caste with total population of 6,761. There were as little as Sudhi caste with population of as little as 12 in total. People of several other castes who live in Ramechhap are Magar, Chhetri, Tamang, Sunuwar, Kami, Brahmin - Hill, Hayu, Sarki, Damai/Dholi, Majhi, Gharti/Bhujel, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Dalit Others, Badi, Terai Others, Pahari, Hajam/Thakur, Sudhi, Teli, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.
Top five castes of people in Ramechhap Municipality are Newar (6,761), Magar (6,271), Chhetri (5,225), Tamang (4,338) and Sunuwar (1,040) with total population of 23,635, which forms 82.61 percent out of total population of 28,612 in Ramechhap Municipality.Population by Disability
Out of total population of 28,612, there were total 673 (2.35%) disabled persons in Ramechhap Municipality with 357 (53.05%) males and 316 (46.95%) females. The physically disabled persons were 314, while mentally disabled people were 24 and intellectually disabled were 16.
Similarly, there were 106 people who were blind and 76 people were deaf, while 18 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 92 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 27 people had multiple disabilities.

Household Foundation
Out of total 6126 households in Ramechhap Municipality, there were 5,989 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 45 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 21 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 32houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 5,801 houses were mud bonded, 238 houses were cement bonded, 17 houses were wood planks bonded, 24 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 2,469 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 1,215 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 2,364 houses had roof of tile, 39 houses had RCC roofs, 0 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.
With respect to the toilets, 2,137 out of 6,126 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 2,266 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 1,701 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

With reference to source of fuel, 5,984 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 27 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 77 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (6), bio-gas (6), fuel electricity (0), etc.
Same as, total 3,015 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 1,665, while 1,157 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.49.

out of 6,126 households in Ramechhap Municipality, 1,261 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 4,730 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 4,341, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 2,693.
Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 727 establishments in Ramechhap Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 2,716 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,509 and female engagement of 1,207 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.74 people engaged with average males are 2.08 and females are 1.66. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.25, which means as many as 1.25 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 55.56 percent while the females are 44.44 percent.
