In 2017 election of Raksirang Rural Municipality (Makwanpur district), candidate Raj Kumar Malla of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,539 (40.20%) votes out of total votes of 8,804 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Lal Bahadur Thapa Magar of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 2,944 (23.85%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,321 (13.18) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Nirmala Himdung of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,535 (41.05%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Suntali Maya Praja of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,950 (24.29%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,127 (12.35) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 165 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 107 (64.85%) males and 58 (35.15%) females. Moreover, there were total 39 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 64 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 29 females and 22 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
