In 2017 election of Rajpur Rural Municipality (Dang district), candidate Lokraj K.c of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,395 (33.84%) votes out of total votes of 7,077 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Shyam Bahadur Jhakri of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 1,858 (19.62%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,824 (19.95) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Dhanpati Devi Yadav of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,273 (32.56%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Pushpa Yadav of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,949 (21.06%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,758 (19.76) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 173 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 101 (58.38%) males and 72 (41.62%) females. Moreover, there were total 36 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 62 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 33 females and 30 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
