In 2017 election of Purbichauki Rural Municipality (Doti district), candidate Dirgha Raj Bogati of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,615 (47.99%) votes out of total votes of 7,533 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Ram Prasad Upadhyay of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 3,568 (32.01%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 350 (2.32) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Nirmala Devi Saud of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,587 (48.06%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Maya Devi Kunwar of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,528 (31.92%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 349 (2.34) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 109 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 63 (57.80%) males and 46 (42.20%) females. Moreover, there were total 21 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 40 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 20 females and 20 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
