In 2017 election of Pokhara Metropolitan City (Kaski district), candidate Man Bahadur G.c of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 60,118 (53.09%) votes out of total votes of 113,243 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Ramji Kunwar of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 46,416 (26.77%) of votes. The rest of 14 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 6,709 (2.96) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Manju Devi Gurung of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 56,448 (48.29%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Saraswati Gurung of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 44,338 (25.58%) of votes and came in second position. Other 9 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 16,111 (6.89) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 843 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 510 (60.50%) males and 333 (39.50%) females. Moreover, there were total 196 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 33 wards. Same as, total 321 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 155 females and 144 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
