In 2017 election of Pipra Rural Municipality (Mahottari district), candidate Binod Kumar Chaudhary of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 2,775 (26.60%) votes out of total votes of 10,431 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Bikram Chaudhary of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 1,873 (14.18%) of votes. The rest of 10 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 5,783 (27.72) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Nanu Kumari Das of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 2,573 (26.25%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Rekha Devi Shah of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,017 (16.30%) of votes and came in second position. Other 10 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 5,212 (26.59) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 259 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 163 (62.93%) males and 96 (37.07%) females. Moreover, there were total 56 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 93 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 43 females and 43 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
