Phidim is a Municipality, which is located in Panchthar district, Province No. 1 of Nepal. Phidim has total 14 wards, which are scattered across 193 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Phidim Municipality had total population of 49,201.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Phidim Municipality had total 49,201 population with 23,167 males and 26,034 females. Out of total wards, ward number 1 had the largest population 8,250, while ward number 3 had least number of population with 8,250.
With respect to number of households, Phidim Municipality had total 10,994 households. The ward number 1 had most households with total 2,128, while ward number 3 had least number of households with total 417 number of households.

In terms of age, the largest population in Phidim Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 6,767. Gender wise, there were 3,395 males and 3,372 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 634 population, which consistes of 345 males and 289 females. The population with age-group 70 to 74 had male to female ratio of 1.19, which states that this age group had maximum males as compared to females. Similarly, age-group 25 to 29 had most female population as compared to male population with male to female ratio of 0.63. There were only 33,603 people fully literate in Phidim Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 1,267 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 15,492 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Phidim Municipality, total 7,678 males and 7,814 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 5,094 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 2,192 male and 2,902 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.98 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.76.The CBS census also states that 49 males and 61 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 8,069 in Phidim Municipality with 3,911 (48.47%) of males and 4,158 (51.53%) females. There were total 94 schools. In average, 86 students were studying in each school.

Mostly spoken language in Phidim is Nepali, which is spoken by 18,009 people. The Phidim has people who speak other languages, such as Limbu, Rai, Bantawa, Tamang, Magar, Gurung, Sunuwar, Chamling, Newar, Sherpa, Thulung, Maithili, Khaling, Nachhiring, Bhojpuri, Bhujel, Rajbanshi, Hindi, Tharu, Majhi, Kulung, Sampang, Urdu, Doteli, Koyee, Bahing, etc.

There were as little as Dusadh/Pasawan/Pasi caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Phidim are Rai, Brahmin - Hill, Chhetri, Tamang, Gurung, Magar, Kami, Sunuwar, Damai/Dholi, Newar, Sherpa, Samgpang, Sarki, Undefined Others, Gharti/Bhujel, Teli, Thulung, Dalit Others, Rajbansi, Yadav, Tharu, Chamling, Khaling, Majhi, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Muslim, Dom, Marwadi, Thakuri, Haluwai, Bangali, Kulung, Hajam/Thakur, Dusadh/Pasawan/Pasi, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Out of total population of 49,201, there were total 1,073 (2.18%) disabled persons in Phidim Municipality with 573 (53.40%) males and 500 (46.60%) females. The physically disabled persons were 402, while mentally disabled people were 80 and intellectually disabled were 34.

Household Foundation
Out of total 10994 households in Phidim Municipality, there were 8,535 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 974 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 275 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 1,095houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 7,701 houses were mud bonded, 1,389 houses were cement bonded, 604 houses were wood planks bonded, 1,175 houses were bamboo bonded and 6 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

out of 10,994 households in Phidim Municipality, 1,943 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 8,940 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 1,663 establishments in Phidim Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 4,841 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 2,788 and female engagement of 2,053 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.91 people engaged with average males are 1.68 and females are 1.23. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.36, which means as many as 1.36 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 57.59 percent while the females are 42.41 percent.
