In 2017 election of Pheta Rural Municipality (Bara district), candidate Amirilal Prasad of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,611 (28.81%) votes out of total votes of 9,062 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Rustam Ansari of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,316 (19.84%) of votes. The rest of 11 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 4,135 (22.82) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Kamrun Khatun of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,169 (25.67%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Chanda Devi Pandeya of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 1,705 (16.06%) of votes and came in second position. Other 6 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 4,574 (27.07) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 237 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 153 (64.56%) males and 84 (35.44%) females. Moreover, there were total 54 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 89 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 42 females and 31 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
