In 2017 election of Parwanipur Rural Municipality (Bara district), candidate Hari Narayan Prasad Shah Kanu of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 2,678 (29.01%) votes out of total votes of 9,231 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Ramchhetri Prasad Kurmi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 1,800 (15.11%) of votes. The rest of 6 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 4,753 (25.74) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Sabitri Devi of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 2,471 (27.35%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Sugandhi Devi Kanuen of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,017 (17.53%) of votes and came in second position. Other 6 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 4,548 (25.17) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 163 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 99 (60.74%) males and 64 (39.26%) females. Moreover, there were total 34 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 60 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 28 females and 25 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
