In 2017 election of Parshuram Municipality (Dadeldhura district), candidate Bhim Bahadur Saud of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 4,629 (38.58%) votes out of total votes of 11,997 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Sher Singh Mal of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 4,084 (24.56%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 3,284 (13.69) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Kalapati Devi Bohara of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 4,213 (35.38%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Bimala Kumari Bohara of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 3,688 (22.88%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 4,007 (16.82) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 238 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 147 (61.76%) males and 91 (38.24%) females. Moreover, there were total 50 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 12 wards. Same as, total 91 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 42 females and 43 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
