In 2017 election of Parsa Rural Municipality (Sarlahi district), candidate Kishun Dev Raya of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,316 (36.63%) votes out of total votes of 6,323 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Dinesh Kumar Yadav of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) who secured 1,840 (21.30%) of votes. The rest of 9 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,167 (17.14) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Indrakala Devi Shah of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,277 (35.21%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Nasrul Khatun of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 1,981 (22.66%) of votes and came in second position. Other 5 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,208 (17.07) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 173 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 106 (61.27%) males and 67 (38.73%) females. Moreover, there were total 37 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 61 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 29 females and 28 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
