In 2017 election of Pandavgufa Rural Municipality (Bajura district), candidate Kali Bahadur Shahi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,451 (43.01%) votes out of total votes of 3,374 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Sundar Bahadur Bista of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 989 (20.50%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 934 (13.84) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Aina Giri of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,490 (44.69%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Tara Kumari Rokaya of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 987 (20.46%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 857 (12.85) of votes.
