Paiyun is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Parbat district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Paiyun has total 7 wards, which are scattered across 43 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Paiyun Rural Municipality had total population of 15,381.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Paiyun Rural Municipality had total 15,381 population with 6,795 males and 8,586 females. Out of total wards, ward number 4 had the largest population 2,894, while ward number 1 had least number of population with 2,894.
With respect to number of households, Paiyun Rural Municipality had total 3,294 households. The ward number 4 had most households with total 617, while ward number 1 had least number of households with total 311 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.79, which indicates that Paiyun Rural Municipality had 21 percent lower males as compared to the females. In terms of age, the largest population in Paiyun Rural Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 2,141. Gender wise, there were 1,038 males and 1,103 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 347 population, which consistes of 184 males and 163 females. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 10,393 people fully literate in Paiyun Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 437 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 4,757 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Paiyun Rural Municipality, total 2,386 males and 2,371 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 1,304 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 453 male and 851 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 1.01 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.53.The CBS census also states that 58 males and 66 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 12,322 in Paiyun Rural Municipality with 5,938 (48.19%) of males and 6,384 (51.81%) females. There were total 36 schools. In average, 342 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Paiyun is Nepali, which is spoken by 13,578 people. The Paiyun has people who speak other languages, such as Magar, Gurung, Newar, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Paiyun Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Brahmin - Hill caste with total population of 7,044. There were as little as Tharu caste with population of as little as 12 in total. People of several other castes who live in Paiyun are Magar, Kami, Damai/Dholi, Chhetri, Gurung, Thakuri, Sarki, Newar, Gharti/Bhujel, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Muslim, Badi, Tharu, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Household Foundation
Out of total 3294 households in Paiyun Rural Municipality, there were 3,056 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 109 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 72 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 23houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 3,034 houses were mud bonded, 193 houses were cement bonded, 4 houses were wood planks bonded, 52 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 870 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 2,157 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 98 houses had roof of tile, 155 houses had RCC roofs, 1 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. With reference to source of fuel, 3,081 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 13 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 174 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (1), bio-gas (22), fuel electricity (0), etc.
Same as, total 2,654 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 492, while 133 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.81.

out of 3,294 households in Paiyun Rural Municipality, 397 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,793 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 546 establishments in Paiyun Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,416 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 774 and female engagement of 642 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.59 people engaged with average males are 1.42 and females are 1.18. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.21, which means as many as 1.21 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 54.66 percent while the females are 45.34 percent.
