In 2017 election of Pachrauta Municipality (Bara district), candidate Ramesh Kumar Yadav of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,642 (23.25%) votes out of total votes of 11,365 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Shyam Prasad of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) who secured 2,527 (18.04%) of votes. The rest of 14 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 6,196 (27.26) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Indra Kumari of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RasJPN) secured 2,546 (22.87%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Lalita Kumari of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,509 (18.34%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 6,076 (27.29) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 258 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 161 (62.40%) males and 97 (37.60%) females. Moreover, there were total 54 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 93 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 44 females and 45 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
