In 2017 election of Netrawati Dabjong Rural Municipality (Dhading district), candidate Durg Kumar Shakya of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,646 (32.32%) votes out of total votes of 5,093 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Tek Jung Lama of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 1,573 (23.34%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,874 (18.40) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Urmila Tamang Gurung of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,542 (32.55%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Asha Maya Tamang of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 1,509 (24.03%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,687 (17.80) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 108 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 64 (59.26%) males and 44 (40.74%) females. Moreover, there were total 23 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 41 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 19 females and 16 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
