In 2017 election of Naukunda Rural Municipality (Rasuwa district), candidate Nurbu Syangbo Ghale of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,301 (42.00%) votes out of total votes of 5,479 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Mlang Dung Muktan of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 1,717 (22.07%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,461 (13.33) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Sirjana Lama of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,609 (38.82%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Yuti Lamini of Naya Shakti Party Nepal (NSPN) secured 1,526 (26.52%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,010 (12.18) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 123 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 80 (65.04%) males and 43 (34.96%) females. Moreover, there were total 27 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 49 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 24 females and 15 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
