Naugad is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Darchula district, Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal. Naugad has total 6 wards, which are scattered across 180 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Naugad Rural Municipality had total population of 15,874.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Naugad Rural Municipality had total 15,874 population with 7,624 males and 8,250 females. Out of total wards, ward number 6 had the largest population 3,928, while ward number 5 had least number of population with 3,928.
With respect to number of households, Naugad Rural Municipality had total 2,616 households. The ward number 6 had most households with total 612, while ward number 5 had least number of households with total 257 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.92, which indicates that Naugad Rural Municipality had 8 percent lower males as compared to the females. In terms of age, the largest population in Naugad Rural Municipality were between 5 and 9 years of age with total 2,634. Gender wise, there were 1,236 males and 1,398 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 150 population, which consistes of 70 males and 80 females. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 7,291 people fully literate in Naugad Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 262 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 5,327 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Naugad Rural Municipality, total 2,721 males and 2,606 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 2,256 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 762 male and 1,494 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 1.04 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.51.The CBS census also states that 12 males and 23 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 2,838 in Naugad Rural Municipality with 1,349 (47.53%) of males and 1,489 (52.47%) females. There were total 43 schools. In average, 66 students were studying in each school.

Mostly spoken language in Naugad is Doteli, which is spoken by 15,842 people. The Naugad has people who speak other languages, such as Nepali, etc.

There were as little as Others caste with population of as little as 14 in total. Household Foundation
Out of total 2616 households in Naugad Rural Municipality, there were 2,538 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 59 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 0 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 3houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 2,287 houses were mud bonded, 271 houses were cement bonded, 35 houses were wood planks bonded, 1 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

Similarly, 2,334 houses had roof of tile, 21 houses had RCC roofs, 1 houses had roof of woods while 8 houses were reported having roof of mud. Same as, total 1,165 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 688, while 440 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.45.

Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 230 establishments in Naugad Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 973 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 702 and female engagement of 271 persons.In every business, there were an average of 4.23 people engaged with average males are 3.05 and females are 1.18. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 2.59, which means as many as 2.59 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 72.15 percent while the females are 27.85 percent.
