In 2017 election of Nashong Rural Municipality (Manang district), candidate Chandra Ghale of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 584 (53.92%) votes out of total votes of 1,083 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Man Bahadur Gurung of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 498 (29.87%) of votes. The rest of 1 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1 (0.05) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Kamal Maya Gurung of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 541 (53.72%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Bed Bahadur Gurung of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 464 (29.97%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2 (0.10) of votes.

Moreover, there were total 17 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards.
