In 2017 election of Narainapur Rural Municipality (Banke district), candidate Ishtiyak Ahmad Shah of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 4,080 (38.99%) votes out of total votes of 10,465 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Ramchandra Maurya Chaudhary of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 3,388 (23.29%) of votes. The rest of 6 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,997 (14.32) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Jayanti Devi Shreevastava of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 3,044 (31.76%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Atikun Nisa of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,598 (20.57%) of votes and came in second position. Other 5 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 3,942 (20.57) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 173 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 95 (54.91%) males and 78 (45.09%) females. Moreover, there were total 35 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 60 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 32 females and 31 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
