In 2017 election of Namkha Rural Municipality (Humla district), candidate Bishnu Bahadur Lama of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 833 (45.90%) votes out of total votes of 1,815 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Tshering Paljor Lama of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 779 (29.42%) of votes. The rest of 1 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 203 (5.59) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Pema Tamang of Independent (Ind) secured 704 (39.98%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Phul Devi Tamang of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 700 (28.40%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 357 (10.14) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 60 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 43 (71.67%) males and 17 (28.33%) females. Moreover, there were total 15 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 26 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 12 females and females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
