The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) - Harka Man Tamang secured 22,944 (47.13%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Dilip Sapkota of Nepali Congress Party who secured 19,330 (39.71%) votes and came in second position.
